From the Inside Out » Listen Now

Episode Description

Many of us don’t realize the high toxic burden that our bodies are dealing with. Our bodies are coping, but they are not thriving while they are working through the daily load. With Dr. Rebecca Risk and her guest Dr. Janelle Murphy we are taken through a description of detoxing, and what the process can look like. For most people it can be as simple as a diet change, and for others it can be as complicated as their genetics. Join us to find out causes of toxicity, and how you can over come them.

Dr. Risk’s Thoughts

I have a very intimate relationship with toxicity.  Lyme disease is a toxic illness, giving off a neurotoxin that affects the body in various ways.  Over the years I have also dealt with mold toxicity, metal toxicity, and chemical toxicity. As I went through my Lyme treatment, half of the journey was to make sure my detox pathways, including my liver and kidney, were working properly.  Genetics have definitely come in to play for me, with a liver that has a defect in phase 1 of the detox process.  In my opinion it is dangerous to treat Chronic Lyme, or actually most other illnesses, without addressing the issue of detox pathways.
