Falling Through the Cracks: Feel alive and thrive

Episode Description

The importance of food in understanding health brings us back to the basics of Chinese Medicine. Our guts are 80% of our immune system, and any disharmony can create health problems. Dr. Risk and Dr. Casey talk about some of the basics, and the most common cause of digestive and health disharmonies.

Dr. Risk’s thoughts:

The first part of any health journey includes changing your diet and looking at gut inflammation.  Like many others, I struggled with this in the beginning, where I craved things like sugar, and bread, and felt I couldn’t be without them.  Over the years I have found a balance with healthy eating, supplementation and anything else my body needs.  Anyone who comes to see me in clinic starts here, so I felt it was really important to make it one of the first shows.  Our cars wouldn’t work if we put mud in them instead of gas, and we are the same.  If you are unsure what to do, fine tune your diet.  Even if you don’t notice much of a change due to other complications in your health, your body will thank you for it.
