Dr. Risk’s Thoughts
I believe, as a health practitioner, that the best way that I can heal others is by knowing how to help myself. Over the years, my journey to wellness didn’t include just one thing that offered me a solution to my illness, but included many things, each one building on the last. Finally, after a long struggle, and many layers, I found who I was without illness. While I was going through the tail of end of this journey, I was working in the clinic of my friend and colleague Dr. Ashley Abbs. We both had different health journey’s that in ways mirrored each other, and in ways were unique to us. One of the things that makes this journey so enlightening, and so unique, is that we are “like snowflakes”, as I always say. Different in our own ways. I was honoured that Ashley chose to share her story with me, so that we could help understand what that journey looks like. I have chosen the topics of my show to represent each part of this journey to wellness that I, and many others, have had to embark upon. My only wish is that you can take something from listening, and make it part of your own individual journey.
