Somehow, well before I was in the health field, I knew something wasn’t right about the low-fat fad that swept the 80s and 90s. I remember when I started to live on my own and doing my own grocery shopping, I was standing in a store looking at the low-fat dairy. I wondered why this food was supposed to be so good for us, yet had to be so modified. A year later my sister tried a low-fat diet to lose weight, and gained weight. We then looked at the facts, and realized how important fats were for us. I started to put oil on all my food. After making a meal, I would just drizzle it on top, using olive oil, avocado oil, macadamia nut oil, flax oil. I found I was less hungry after each meal, and had less sugar cravings. As time went on I noticed some major health benefits. We can’t argue the importance of fats any more, which is why I was so excited to do this interview with Udo Erasmus. A pioneer in his field, helping educate us in the beginning when we were all going low-fat, and he’s still going strong.
Poisoned by pesticides in 1980, Udo Erasmus used his university education in biological sciences, biochemistry, genetics, and psychology to cure himself naturally.
