Episode Description for The Metabolic Theory of Cancer

With one in two men, and one in three women at risk of getting cancer in their life time, there is a lot of fear around this disease.  We still don’t understand how it works, or how to beat it.  In his book “Tripping over the Truth,” Travis Christofferson lays out the history of cancer and its treatments.  Leaving us with hope, and discussing it in this interview, he brings forth the metabolic theory of cancer, and how we can treat it.

 Dr. Risk’s Thoughts

After reading Travis Christofferson’s book, I am baffled that there aren’t newer solutions to treat cancer.  It seems that newer methods should be out there, since nothing has changed in so long.  After doing this show, and then a few weeks later interviewing Robb Wolf, it seems to me that we have options.  Unfortunately, eating a healthy diet often is over looked as a solution for health.  I am happy that there is a food revolution and that we now have the knowledge of how to help ourselves.  With any illness, prevention is key.  If you are affected by cancer, or just don’t want to be, listen to future show “Wired to Eat” with Robb Wolf, and “The Metabolic Approach to Cancer” with Nasha Winters.
